Oh, baby! There’s a new mom in town and her name is Keke Palmer! Palmer welcomed her first child with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, in February 2023 and shared the news via social media.
We all know Keke “Get to the Bag” Palmer as a singer, actress, talk show host, and now, a mom. She took to Instagram just 48 hours after becoming a parent sharing a series of photos and videos including her baby boy, who she and Jackson call “Leo”—however, his full name is Leodis Andrellton Jackson. “Born during Black History Month, with a name to match!” Keke shared in her caption.
The Nope star addressed the pregnancy rumors during her appearance on the Saturday Night Live show in December 2022. She decided to turn her SNL monologue into her baby bump reveal to confirm the pregnancy rumors, and what a genius move that was! Later, she dropped her maternity photos with her boyfriend, Jackson. The couple went public with their relationship in 2021. Since then, our internet bestie has been documenting her pregnancy with her supporters and fans and we truly love to see it!
Though her motherhood journey just began, the 29-year-old got transparent and candid with her social media followers sharing her struggles as a new mom. It’s been a week since giving birth and Palmer quickly learned that motherhood isn’t always easy. In a short video post on Instagram, Palmer shared, “when it comes to raising a kid, I’ve already learned in these short few days that it takes a village.” She added, “and sometimes that’s a privilege!” Watch below.
Following the post of the video was an outpour of love and encouragement in the comments from other moms, like Viola Davis, Tabitha Brown, Taraji P. Henson, and more who all related to her emotional message.
Palmer has grown up on television right before our eyes as a child actor starring in films like Madea’s Family Reunion, and her breakthrough film, Akeelah and the Bee. She has always kept it real with her supporters and nothing has changed. Keep up with Palmer as she takes on this new chapter in her life here.
