Andre Leon Talley – former Vogue creative director and Editor-at-Large has passed away at 73.
The Black fashion community and the fashion industry at large mourn the death of Andre Leon Talley. He was a beacon of hope as the most prominent example of an African American person who successfully navigated the trenches in an industry that is not so inclusive.
Although not compensated appropriately or celebrated enough, Andre Leon Talley was an industry icon and fashion pioneer. He inspired so many including June Ambrose, Claire Sulmers, Whoopi Goldberg, Rihanna, Diddy, Will I Am and more.
This is a devastating loss for fashion today. May his legacy live on and his soul rest powerfully.
