Honoring the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature, and film and also recognizing individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors, the NAACP Image Awards is where Black Excellence lives! This year included a week-long virtual experience presented by Wells Fargo, with 5 nights of virtual awards leading up to the 52nd annual celebration broadcasting live on Saturday.
Thursday’s winners in music and recording included Beyoncé for Outstanding Female Artist, Drake for Outstanding Male Artist and Megan Thee Stallion for Outstanding Hip Hop/Rap Song. Jhené Aiko also took home Outstanding Album for Chilombo.
The 52nd NAACP Image Awards with be hosted by Anthony Anderson for the 8th consecutive year with appearances from Alicia Keys, Andra Day, Arsenio Hall, Cynthia Erivo, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Michelle Obama and more!
The LIVE show is airing on BET and simulcast across ViacomCBS Networks including CBS, BET Her, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Paramount, Pop, Smithsonian, TV Land, VH1, BET PLUTO, and CMT on Saturday, March 27th, 2021 at 8/7c. You can also stream it using Philo. Philo is a new and amazing subscription service that provides a live and on demand television experience for its viewers.
