
A night of Black excellence is underway. Get ready for a star studded affair as the 52nd NAACP Image Awards celebrates and honors the achievements of black people across television, music, literature and film. Pivoting in the midst of a pandemic, this year included a week-long virtual experience presented by Wells Fargo, with 5 nights of virtual awards leading up to Saturday’s live broadcast, which will include Stacey Abrams being honored with the Impact Award, Eddie Murphy being inducted in the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame and an appearance by Michelle Obama.

The 52nd annual celebration will take place live on Saturday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The show will broadcast live on BET. You can also stream it using Philo. Philo is a new and amazing subscription service that provides a live and on demand television experience for its viewers.

7-time NAACP Image Award winner Anthony Anderson will return as the host for the 8th consecutive year. The preceding live program includes a pre-awards show hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner and awards presented by Leslie Jones, Susan Kelechi Watson, among others.
Who’s performing this year? Image Award Outstanding Female Artist nominee Jazmine Sullivan will perform – along with Grammy Award-winning singer Maxwell, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut album Urban Hang Suite.
Throughout the evening there will be appearances from Alicia Keys, Andra Day, Arsenio Hall, Cynthia Erivo, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Michelle Obama, Misty Copeland, Regina King, Samuel L. Jackson, the cast of Tyler Perry’s Sistas, Swizz Beatz, and Tracy Morgan. MC Lyte will serve at the night’s Voice Over announcer.
